Coach's comments:

The Sycamore High School boys bowling team beat Elgin St. Edwards for the second time this year tonight, Tuesday, December 4th at home. The Spartan’s Varsity bowled a three game series total of 3128, while St. Edwards had a total of 2498. Sycamore was led by junior Jake Webb who had the high series of the night with a 685, bowling games of 240, 221 and 224. Just behind Jake was fellow junior Kris Williams who shot a 673 series. Kris had the high game of night with a 243, he also bowled games of 203 and 227. Jake and Kris were followed by senior Kevin Edwards’ 609, senior Ryan Toms’ 582, sophomore Kyle Edwards’ 575 and senior Derek Snow’s 519.

Sycamore’s boys Junior Varsity scored a series total of 3039 while St. Edwards had a total of 1886. The Junior Varsity was led by freshman Michael Reines’ series of 645. Michael was followed by freshman Cody Ballenger’s 639, sophomore Shane Toms’ 597 and freshman Austin Ricker and sophomore Drew Remala who both ended with a 564 series.

The boy’s will bowl next this Saturday, December 8th. The Varsity will be in Rockford bowling at Don Carter Lanes in the Guilford Tournament, while the Fresh/Soph team will be heading to Freeport to participate in the Fresh/Soph tournament there.

Coach’s comments: I am very proud of how the boy’s are coming along. They are consistently bowling better at every meet. The Varsity and Junior Varsity teams are meshing well together. I am very excited to see what the coming month will bring. I truly believe we have a strong shot at making it to our first State Tournament. Sycamore will participate in Sectionals at Dixon on Saturday, January 19th, 2008.
