Fundraiser
Because bowlers are charged a discounted price for bowling in
addition to not contributing to a prize fund, it is necessary to conduct a
fundraiser. These funds are used to purchase numerous trophies and awards
and pay for the banquet at the end of the season which parents and bowlers
are invited to attend. Each bowler in the program is REQUIRED
to participate.

When youth bowlers present their sanction card at the counter, they will
not be charged for shoe rental and will only be charged $2.50 for practice
games. (No discount during Glow Bowl) It is the bowler's responsibility to
carry the card and not lose it. Duplicate cards cannot be issued.
We will issue them another card identifying them as a youth bowler for a
$10.00 fee. It is impossible for the staff to remember over 200 faces so
if you forget or lose your card, please do not ask that an exception be
made. No exceptions are to be made by a staff member whether
or not they know the bowler.
Discounted Purchases
The first 2 weeks of bowling, we will be offering a discount to
anyone purchasing bowling equipment for their child. Discount is NOT
available on merchandise already on sale.

Tardiness
Lanes will be turned on at 8:50 and 11:50 for practice. Scoring
will begin promptly at 9:00 and 12:00. Bowlers arriving after the 3rd
frame has been completed will not be allowed to bowl that game. They will
need to sit out until the beginning of the next game. Please be
punctual!
Website
You will find a lot of information on our website. Standings,
upcoming tournament information, high score recognition, specials, etc.
Please get used to using this as your information source.
Inclement Weather
In the event we will be closed due to bad weather it will be
announced on WLBK and WDEK. Please do not call and ask us to return a call
if we're not bowling.
Pre Bowls
Should your child have to miss a week of
bowling, they will be allowed to prebowl. There will be no make up games
after Saturday. Due to the prebowl situation being so hectic and often
taking up all available lanes, prebowls will now be at specific start
times and 3-4 bowlers may be grouped together on a lane. Prebowlers will
be allowed ONE (1) practice frame on each lane before we begin scoring.
Bowlers will be allowed 5 prebowls during the season and this will be
strictly enforced. If you are an older bowler and are taking a job, we
would suggest letting them know that you are not available until later in
the day. If additional prebowls are necessary due to mandatory
school sport practices, Saturday games or mandatory church commitments,
you will need a letter from your coach or pastor on letterhead
stating specific dates. Notes on scrap paper will not be acceptable. This
must be turned in by day of prebowl. We will NOT accept letters AFTER you
have prebowled. If for custodial reasons, you need to make other
arrangements, please let us know as soon as possible. No exceptions will
be made to the prebowl times in order to have lanes available for open
bowlers.
Remember: can you think of another sport that lets
you pre-play the game?
Prebowl Times:
Monday: 6:30 or 7:00 START
Wednesday: 7:00 or 7:30 START
Thursday & Friday: 4:00 OR 4:30 START
Sunday: Anytime between
6:00 & 8:30 (must be finished by 8:30)
Prebowls on NO SCHOOL days will also be allowed between 10 AM and 1 PM!
Prebowl times depend upon lane availability and cannot
be guaranteed. When you come in to prebowl please know your LEAGUE
CODE, TEAM NUMBER, AND WEEK THAT YOU ARE BOWLING FOR!
NO PREBOWLS ON WEEKS OF POSITION ROUNDS
Absentees
If a bowler must be absent on Saturday, you will use a BLIND
score which is the absent bowler's average minus 10 pins. Absent
bowler will be required to pay their regular fee the following week.
Please try to be here on Saturdays, as it's always more fun to bowl as a
team!
Substitutes
Substitutes are allowed as long as they are sanction bowlers.
Instruction
We will be providing free instruction one evening during the week.
We will need you to sign up on Saturdays so we know how many instructors
we need to have here. Sorry, phone calls on the day of instruction will
not be acceptable. You may drop the bowler off or you are welcome to stay.
If you are staying, please leave the coaching to the instructors during
that time.
Awards
Awards will be based on the bowler's final average from previous
season for the first 3 weeks. If it is a new bowler, it will be based on
their average after 9 games have been bowled.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:
This year all bowlers have been registered in the Scholarship Program. It
is your choice whether or not you participate. All participants ARE
REQUIRED to help raise funds through the annual Bowlathon Fundraiser.
All money raised will be put into the scholarship fund for Four Seasons
bowlers. Over the past 14 seasons the bowlers have accumulated $85,000.
Everyone is eligible for the
scholarships as this is not based on ability, but rather
participation. During the past 12 seasons, approximately $41,000 has been
awarded to graduating seniors.
Men's Bowling Association Scholarship:
The Men's Bowling Association awards $1,000.00 in scholarship funds each
year. It is divided equally between all graduating seniors. Please ask for
an application.
Scholarship Invitational Tournament:
The Illinois State Bowling Proprietors have implemented an Invitational
Tournament with only high school students eligible to participate.
$6,000.00 in scholarship money is awarded to the top 3 males and top 3
females. Look for entries at the end of the season.

VACANCY
SCORES: When there is a vacancy spot on the team, we
will use the average of the league with handicap. The score will be
changed every 4 weeks according to league average.
CAPS: There are to be no caps worn
during league or tournament play.
Video
Games: No playing of video games during league or
tournament play. Before or after only.
Shoes:
Street shoes must also be left on carpeted area. They are
NOT to be worn down
to the tile floor.
Food or
Drinks: Food and drinks are
NOT allowed in the seating area.
ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD OR DRINKS ARE
TO BE CARRIED IN FROM OUTSIDE!
Staff will be directed to dispose of carry ins.
NOT AT
LANES AND READY TO BOWL: When a bowler is not at the
lanes and ready to bowl when it is their turn without opposing team being
previously notified, a zero (0) is to be recorded for that frame.
Bowling
Etiquette: If you and a bowler on either side get up
to bowl at the same time, the bowler on the right should be allowed to go
first. Step off the approach while you wait so you don't distract them.
Fouls:
All fouls are to be recorded regardless of age. When a foul is committed
on the first ball, the pins should be reset so there is a full set, bowler
receives (0) for the first ball and is allowed to roll a second ball. If
they knock down ALL pins, it is recorded as a spare.
Deliberate
Fouls: When a player deliberately fouls, they shall
receive (0) for that delivery and not be allowed any further deliveries in
that frame. A ball is in play and a foul may be called after legal
delivery has been made and until the same or another player is on the
approach and ready to bowl.
Derogatory
Conduct: Any YABA member violating the following
rules during league or tournament play shall be liable for suspension of,
or denial of YABA membership and privileges:
- Using any type of tobacco products or alcoholic
beverages
- Using foul language or gestures
- Wearing clothes depicting foul language or gestures
If a bowler is ever seen using tobacco products or
alcoholic beverages, they will be immediately suspended from the program
and most likely have membership revoked by the state.
Foul language or gestures
WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
After practice has been completed, put
ALL names in the
lineup whether they are present or not. If they prebowled it will be
indicated by an (O) above their name. If they did not prebowl, they have
until the end of the 3rd frame to catch up. When it is their turn to bowl,
press S to SKIP THEM. If they arrive by the end of the 3rd
frame, push R for RESUME so they can catch up.
If they have not arrived STOP! You
need to mark them absent NOW.
DO NOT CONTINUE TO SKIP THEM!
(Or at the end of the game it is going to want them to catch up entire
game and will not let you advance to next game! This will cause a
problem!)
